IPHE Global Hydrogen Forum - 18 June 2020

On June 18, 2020, the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE) hosted the Global Hydrogen Forum. The Forum brought government and industry leaders together to identify the challenges, opportunities, policies, and mechanisms to accelerate global-scale deployments of hydrogen across the economy. 
 
Session 1 covered government and international agency perspectives, including the following speakers: 
 
• Daniel Simmons – Assistant Secretary, United States Department of Energy, and Chair of the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy
• Kadri Simson – Commissioner of Energy, European Union
• Andreas Scheuer – Minister, Federal Ministry of Transport & Digital Infrastructure, Germany 
• HE Aziz Rabbah – Minister, Ministry of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, Morocco 
• Yasuhiro Matsuyama – Director General, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan 
• David Turk - Deputy Executive Director, IEA
• Alan Finkel – Chief Scientist, Australia 

 

 

 

 


 

Session 2 covered industry perspectives and included the following speakers:

 

  • Tom Linebarger – Chief Executive Officer, Cummins

  • Gwenaelle Avice-Huet – Chief Executive Officer of the North America Business Unit, and Executive Vice-President, Global Renewable Business Line, Engie

  • Jon Andre Lokke – Chief Executive Officer, Nel

  • Euisun Chung – Executive Vice-Chairman, Hyundai Motor Group

  • Pierre-Etienne Franc – Secretary of the Hydrogen Council, and Vice-President, Hydrogen Energy World Business Unit, Air Liquide 

 

Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, Secretary General, Hydrogen Europe, was the Master of Ceremony and Noé van Hulst, Hydrogen Envoy, Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate Policy, The Netherlands, and Vice-Chair of the IPHE, provided closing remarks.
